Texting Terms

Who we are

These terms cover text messages (SMS and MMS) sent by Horizon Real Estate Group, LLC, doing business as Horizon Realty Group ("Horizon," "we," "us"), a North Carolina real estate firm, and by the licensed brokers who work with it, including Travis Old, Broker (NC license 334264). Our texts come from (252) 632-8681. By opting in on the Gates County Buyer's Brief website or one of our other websites, you agree to these terms.

Horizon Realty Group is the assumed business name of Horizon Real Estate Group, LLC under an Assumed Business Name Certificate recorded with the Currituck County Register of Deeds, Book 1878, Page 507.

Two kinds of texts, two separate choices

We ask for your permission separately for each kind. You can choose one, both or neither. Choosing neither does not affect any service we provide.

1. Service texts. Texts about something you asked us for or a transaction you are part of. Examples: replies to your questions, a confirmation that a document or FAQ you requested was sent, showing and appointment confirmations and reminders, offer and contract updates, inspection, appraisal, due diligence and closing dates, document and e-sign reminders, agency disclosure notices, and messages from the broker working with you. If you text us first, we may reply by text.
2. Marketing texts. Texts that promote our services. Examples: new listings that match a search you set up, price changes, market updates for Northeast North Carolina, open houses, events and workshops, seasonal greetings, check-ins and anniversaries, and offers to help you buy or sell. We send marketing texts only with your written permission, given by ticking the marketing box on one of our forms.

County FAQ texts

If you request a county buyer FAQ and tick the text box, we send up to 2 automated texts about that request: one confirming the FAQ was emailed, and one follow-up offering help buying or selling a home. The second is a marketing text. Agreeing is not a condition of getting the FAQ.

Consent is not a condition of service

You do not have to agree to texts to buy or sell a home with us, to get any document, or to use our websites. We may send some texts by automated system. Your permission applies to the number you gave us and to Horizon only; we do not pass it to anyone else.

How often

Service texts are sent as needed for your request or transaction. Marketing texts: up to 8 msgs/mo. County FAQ texts: up to 2 per request. Message frequency varies. We send automated marketing texts only between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. your local time.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's charges are yours. We never charge for texts.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts from (252) 632-8681. STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE and OPT OUT all work, as does a plain request like "please stop texting me." You will get one final text confirming you are unsubscribed. You can also ask us to stop by email, by phone or in person, and we will honor it within 10 business days. If you are in a transaction with us and stop texts, we will reach you by phone or email instead. To start again, reply START.

Carriers

Supported on major U.S. carriers; support on some smaller carriers is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We are not responsible for carrier delays or failures.

Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy, section "Texting", explains what we collect and how we use it. We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, such as a new kind of text or a higher frequency, we will tell you by text before it applies, and you can reply STOP at any time.

Fair housing and licensing

Horizon Real Estate Group, LLC is licensed by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (firm C21624). We follow the federal Fair Housing Act and North Carolina fair housing law. Our texts never offer or withhold information based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or familial status.

Recorded calls and text messages

Calls and text messages to Horizon Realty Group and the brokers who work with it will be recorded and machine read or periodically reviewed by a human for quality improvement purposes. By calling or texting us, you consent to this recording and review. This notice is about recording. It is not a request for permission to text you.
